La poesía de la comida
Summary
La poesía de la comida is a project based on food in different Spanish speaking cultures and the culture surrounding that food. For this project the student was allowed to decide what country they wanted to look at and then choose what specific dish they want to study. They then found a recipe for their dish translated it to Spanish. after writing their recipe the students wrote an ode to their food talking about the culture surrounding the food and the food itself. I chose to do my project on the country of Argentina and the meat dish of asado. Asado is a meat that is cooked over a course of twelve hours over open wood pit fire.
Reflection
During this project I learned about the culture surrounding meals in Argentina and the way they prep their food. The best part of this project for me was being able to cook something and have people eat it at exhibition and enjoy it. If I was to do something different in this process i would make my ode longer and more refined. The ode that I had for exhibition was finished but it was the minimum word count and I feel like I could have been more creative with writing it. Over all it was a good project that i enjoyed doing and presenting at exhibition.

Los Cuantos De Infantiles : Reflection
For this project we first did an in depth study of a country of our choice and learned about the culture in that country. After that we then wrote a story based on what we learned from our research on our country. I chose to do the Dominican republic and write my story about a boy during carnival. Once this was done we created a book using this story and then read them to second graders at a local elementary school.
I really enjoyed this project. It was fun to be able to make a physical project and really try to refine it.I liked being able to make my project my own and really make it unique it was a fun thing to see develop and learn what the cultures of my country was like through putting it into a story. I think I learned a lot more from creating a physical project instead of filling out work sheets. But overall i enjoyed this project even if i had room for improvement.

Dia de los muertos
The dia de los muartos project was a fun project we made calacas out of paper mache to represent a dead relative that meant alot to us in life. the goal was to depict them doing somthing they enjoyed in life to bring back their spirit. We also wrote poemas calaveras about our relation. My project was about a friend of the family that was very dear to me.

Reflection
In this project I learned about latino culture and how they dont fear death as much as the U.S. culture does. I learned about the three day festival that takes place in october and november and what this celebration includes as far as food, calaveras and ofrendas. The exhibition for this project was short I thought but it was a good space to have it because the space was very intamite and these calacas and calveras were all about someone special to each of us so a smaller space was good for that I loved the way every one took pride in their work and not one calaca looked alike. For me the most enjoyable part was making my calaca. Buck, the person I made mine about was a veryimportant person to me at the begining of my life so to get to go back and think about my memorys of him was a great experiance and I really enjoyed getting to do some hands on work instead of just writing. This gave me somthing new and intersting to do because I love working with my hands on things. The only thing I would have done differently on this project was I would have taken more time to refine my calaca and make it a shinning example of beautiful work because I liked zMy end result but all the edges on my calaca could have been smoother and more refined. If i could redo my poem I would make it rhyme more than it did because as it is in its state right now it gets the point across but it doesnt rhyme and actually sound like a poem it sounds like im reading totaly seperate phrases. I could not choose which part of this project I am most proud of beacuse I really enjoyed every aspect of this project and it was a great way to look at mexican culture and look back on childhood memories while creating a piece of beautiful work.
