One of the biggest topics of debate during this primary debate will be immigration. This has been a large topic of conversation; Obama has been taking a lot of heat from the GOP for his recent for his decision to grant amnesty to a large number of illegal immigrants that are living in America. The republicans frown on a weak policy pertaining to immigration. Immigration is an important topic because we have a lot of people trying to come here illegally and people who already are. One candidate that feels strongly about immigration is Donald Trump; he was the first to bring attention to this issue during the primaries and has made insult to Latino’s calling them Rapists and Criminals. He has taken advantage of the dislike that Republicans have for Obamas Immigration and has used this topic to gain advantage in the polls. However taking this stance will cost him a large population of Latino voters during this election.
Donald Trump plans to Deport over a million illegal immigrants and allow some back in based on skills, and if they don’t have a criminal record. He welcomes any legal immigrants happily into America if they have something to contribute m and because they bring cultural diversity. He strongly advocates that America builds a triple layer fence along the border such as the one that is near Yuma, Arizona. He also proposes that in addition to the cameras radar and radio systems that are in place on the border we should hire more border patrol agents and gives them predator drones to assist in the sealing of the U.S. border. This is a number one priority for trump as having less illegal immigrants means more jobs for Americans.
Trump makes a few very good points such as that 300 thousand illegal immigrants are in our prisons costing us 1.3 billion dollars and that we need to seal up our borders more so that illegal immigrants cannot continue to pass into America. What may not help him in this race wants to deport a large number of people that are living illegally in the United States. Other candidates challenge his opinion saying that his plan to deport is to extreme and that it would cost too much money and take too much man power to put multiple thousands of people back across the border annually.
