When watching the GOP debate as young person with a slightly left wing bias with a firm understanding of both parties. One must wonder out of all the arguing about the topics and making personal insults to each other, it is very easy to see why our government finds it hard to decide things. During the course of the debate Donald Trump manages to sound scarcely more articulate than his skit with Jimmy Fallon a few days before. While he did address a couple specifics topics, such as his immigration policies and illustrating how he can help get the country out of debt using his business background. His personal attacks on other candidates, argumentative demeanor and failure to fully answer questions reduced his credibility considerably.
When seeing what each candidate has to say, we want to hear what they would do in the future. The occasional anecdotal evidence of what they have done in the past on this topic is a relevant piece of evidence. However when a question about Trump having his hand on nuclear codes comes up he turns it around and talks about how Rand Paul shouldn’t be part of the debate because he only has 1% of the vote. When observing the candidates you hear the quality of their rhetoric and it becomes quickly obvious who knows their facts on the topics and who is trying to further argument based on who they are and we don’t want to hear what a candidate thinks of another on a personal level.
